The fresh air fun of a power sunroof is standard on PT Cruiser GT and available on PT Cruiser Classic and Touring models. Includes a power tilt/slide function.

Available on Classic and Touring is the new YES Essentials™* stain/odour/static resistant seat fabric, and with PT Cruiser GT, you get the luxury of leather-faced seats with heated front seats (available on Touring). A centre armrest with a fore/aft positioning feature and two front cup holders is available with bright surrounds (in Chrome Accents Group). Instrument Panel

The PT Cruiser instrument panel features a cool analogue clock in the Satin Silver centre stack ("Mini Carbon" pattern on GT). Instruments are larger for easier viewing, with cool white lighting at night. A grab handle is included on the passenger side and the glovebox is generously large.

The Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC) (standard on Classic, Touring and GT models) uses a reconfigurable display in the instrument cluster to inform the driver of outside temperature, fuel economy, distance to empty, audio settings, elapsed time and even compass heading.

The UConnect™ Voice-Activated Hands-Free Communication System is compatible with all cellular phones equipped with Bluetooth™ technology. Voice prompts notify you of incoming calls and you can even make hands-free calls with voice-tag dialing.

Engines

The standard engine on PT Cruiser, Classic and Touring models is a 2.4-litre DOHC balance shaft equipped 4-cylinder that generates 150 horsepower. Available on Touring model is a Turbo 180-horsepower 2.4L engine. Standard on GT is a High Output Turbo, 230-horsepower engine.

Transmissions

The standard 5-speed manual transmission is engineered for performance and fuel efficiency. An optional four-speed automatic transmission (standard on Touring with Turbo engine) is an electronic, fully adaptive unit with torque management for quick shifts and smooth power delivery. The High Output Turbo engine on GT is teamed with a special heavy-duty Getrag- five-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic with Auto/Stick™ for clutchless manual driver control.

PT Cruiser uses a unique twist-beam rear suspension design with Watt’s linkage for responsive handling. Cruiser GT has special performance-tuned suspension for sportier handling and response.

Low speed traction control, included with available ABS and 4-wheel disc brakes, gives you extra grip and control when starting out on slick surfaces.

Air Bags

Standard are advanced multistage driver and front passenger air bags* and inflatable driver’s side knee blocker. Also available are front seat side air bags* for enhanced protection (standard on Touring and GT, available on PT Cruiser and Classic).

Seat Belts and Child Seats

PT Cruiser features height-adjustable turning loops on shoulder belts with travelling buckles for front seats, and 3-point shoulder belts for all rear seat passengers. User-ready child seat anchors (LATCH system) ease the installation of compatible aftermarket child seats.

PT Cruiser uses unibody “safety-cage” construction and differential thickness panels that result in a strong but lightweight structure with greater torsional stiffness that contributes to safety and a smooth, quiet ride.

Standard front disc/rear drum brakes use large diameter front rotors for greater heat dissipation. Power front disc/rear drum brakes with anti-lock are available on models with non-Turbo engine. Performance 4-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock and low speed traction control are standard on PT Cruiser GT and optional on Touring with Turbo engine.
