In order to improve an already great pickup, the designers turned to their most inspiring muses – customers. Using their input, the team pinpointed and addressed key areas for enhancements.
The Club Cab™ model features standard rear access doors that open nearly 90°, and available Full Swing™ doors for complete accessibility – opening up nearly 170°
4x2 and 4x4 models share major suspension system components, giving them both the same ride height

Beds

Depending on what model you choose, you get the 1.6-metre (5 foot 4 inch) or 2-metre (6 foot 6 inch) cargo box. In any case, you'll find that it's been built to deliver serious capability and convenience.
Convenient tie downs and horizontal ridges accommodate a divider that allows drivers to create two floors of storage
You'll find inner slots where you can insert vertical dividers to keep different types of cargo where they belong
A factory-installed under the rail bed liner is optional on all Dakota models

TRX & TRX4 Off-Road Groups

2007 Dodge Dakota with the TRX and TRX4 Off-Road; for those who want another reason to go outside and play:
Available on 4x2 models, the TRX package includes front tow hooks, a 3.55 axle ratio and anti-spin differential for added traction on less than suitable surfaces. Sporty TRX decals, and unique 16x8-inch cast aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires give this Dakota a truly distinct look
For the thrill-seeking enthusiast, the TRX4 Off-Road Group, available on 4x4 models, offers anti-spin 3.92 rear differential with automatic transmission, skid plates, tow hooks, unique 16x8-inch cast-aluminum off-road wheels and rough-and-tough TRX4 Off-Road badges. This package also features the Heavy-Duty Service Group, which includes a 750-amp battery, maximum engine cooling and power steering and transmission coolers (automatic transmission only)

Legendary Club Cab

The tried and true club cab is the perfect truck for the owner who needs the utility of a truck, but also desires interior room for additional passengers. Seats up to six with available 40/20/40 split-bench front seat. 60/40 split-bench rear seating offers convenient and instant under the seat storage.

A standard 3.7-litre Magnum V6 that generates 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque, the most powerful standard engine in its class.
An available 4.7-litre Magnum V8 that pumps out 230 horsepower and 290 pound-feet of torque, now available as both regular gasoline or flex fuel.
The 4.7-litre High Output Magnum V8 with 260 horsepower and Best-in-Class* 310 pound-feet of torque.

Transmissions

Smooth transmissions are the hallmark of any great pickup truck. After all, they are meant to do a lot of hard work. So, rest assured, Dodge Dakota has some of the best in the business.

A state-of-the-art Getrag 6-speed manual transmission is standard on all models, except when equipped with the 4.7-litre High-Output Magnum® V8 engine

4-speed automatic, 5-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmissions are available

4WD Systems

When it's time for off-road adventure, 2007 Dodge Dakota 4x4 models know how it’s done.
Standard part-time, 2-speed, electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case
Available full-time all-wheel drive, the only available two-speed full-time system in its class, provides 4-wheel traction on all surfaces, all of the time, without having to be switched on and off
Both systems feature a rotary switch conveniently located on the instrument panel
Both systems feature 4LO. This locks the front and rear axles together and multiplies the engine's torque for optimum pulling power.

Payload / Towing Capacity

Dakota is more than up to the task with full size capability and Best-in-Class* towing**, and several model, engine, and transmission combinations to choose from.

In the event of a front impact, the energy-absorbing octagonal front frame rail tips reduce impact energy by collapsing rearward, allowing less force to transfer through to the occupants

Brake System

Front disc/rear drum with rear-wheel anti-lock brakes are standard on all Dakota models. This system provides outstanding stopping performance with the added control of anti-lock, advanced technology, which prevents wheel lock-up during hard-braking situations, or on slippery surfaces.
Large front disc brakes that share their design with Durango and Ram
Rear drum brakes that provide the performance of disc brakes and also provide weight savings
Standard rear-wheel ABS and available 4-wheel ABS with Electronic Variable Brake Proportioning (EVBP). EVBP electronically proportions the brake pressure to the rear wheels based on wheel speed inputs from the front and rear wheel speed sensors. This system provides optimum brake balance for various loading or road conditions.

Child Protection

To help protect the little ones, you'll be happy to know that Dakota features:
A passenger front outboard side on/off air bag* switch in Club Cab™ models
A standard child seat anchor system (LATCH). This gives a child's seat a more secure mounting point to help minimize compatible aftermarket child seat movement

Impact Energy

In the event of a collision, 2007 Dodge Dakota has been designed to help maximize occupant safety.
Octagonal front rail tips that extend the frame 75 millimetres (3 inches) forward, collapsing rearward-in upon themselves, effectively managing impact energy
